NFL Wildcard Round Betting Odds and Predictions

The Wild Card Round of the NFL Playoffs is set to kick off with a pair of games on both Saturday and Sunday. There are plenty of intriguing matchups and storylines, but all four home teams are favorites this weekend. Let’s preview each game before making a prediction for the winner in each matchup.

Houston Texans -1.5 vs. Indianapolis Colts:

Andrew Luck carried his Colts into the playoffs this season, and they will now take on AFC South rival, Houston Texans. These two teams split their two games during the regular season, and this should be an extremely competitive game. Indianapolis will try to use their quick-strike offense to beat the tough defense of the Houston Texans. J.J. Watt gets plenty of headlines in Houston, but the Texans have a deep and extremely talented defensive front. The Texans will do all that they can to get pressure on Luck in this game, but it won’t be easy. Indianapolis has a great offensive line, and Luck threw for over 4,500 yards behind that stellar group. The Colts beat the Texans in Houston, 24-21, just weeks ago, and they should be able to do it again. Picking road winners is always risky in the NFL playoffs, but the Colts are just playing too well right now. Bet the Indianapolis Colts +1.5 over the Houston Texans.

Dallas Cowboys -1.5 vs. Seattle Seahawks:

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett will be looking for his second ever playoff win when his team hosts the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night. This has all the makings of a defensive struggle, as the Cowboys and Seahawks both have terrific defenses. Dallas has been much better on offense since acquiring Amari Cooper, but the Cowboys are still averaging just 21.2 points per game. Running back Ezekiel Elliott ran for a league-high 1,434 yards during the regular season, but you can expect the Seattle defense to be ready for him. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has proven that he can lead his team to playoff wins, and he has had a terrific season. Wilson threw for just 193 yards per game this season, but the Seahawks have been running the ball like crazy. Dallas simply must win this game or Jerry Jones might lose his mind, and they will find a way to score just enough points to get it done. Bet the Dallas Cowboys -1.5 to beat the Seahawks at home in this game.

Baltimore Ravens -2.5 vs. Los Angeles Chargers:

The 12-4 Los Angeles Chargers will be on the road when they take on the 10-6 Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card Round. Baltimore has been almost unbeatable since rookie Lamar Jackson took over the starting QB job, including 22-10 win over Los Angeles just two weeks ago. The Chargers feature one of the most balanced offenses in the league, with quarterback Philip Rivers leading the way. Los Angeles is expected to get tight end Hunter Henry back for this game, and running back Melvin Gordon is fully healthy as well. There is no doubt that the Chargers offense will be able to score some points against one of the top defenses in the NFL. Baltimore is averaging more than 150 rushing yards per game this season, and their offense does a great job of dominating time of possession. Lamar Jackson did a great job of getting the Ravens to the postseason, but things won’t be as easy for the rookie in the playoffs. Baltimore will be hard to beat at home, but the Chargers just have too many weapons. Take the points and bet the Los Angeles Chargers +2.5 over the Baltimore Ravens.

Chicago Bears -5.5 vs. Philadelphia Eagles:

The surprising Chicago Bears will host the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles in the final Wild Card Game on Sunday afternoon. Chicago has dominated opponents with their relentless defense all season long, while their offense has shown just enough to win games. On the flip side, the Eagles are lucky to be in the playoff field, but Nick Foles has them ready to make another run. The Bears allowed just 17.7 points this season and led the NFL in takeaways and defensive touchdowns. If Chicago is going to advance deep into the postseason, Khalil Mack is going to lead the way. Second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw for over 3,200 yards this season, but he still plenty of areas to improve. Philadelphia looks like a much better offense with Foles leading the way, and tight end Zach Ertz caught 116 passes during the regular season. The Eagles don’t have a star running back, and the lack of run game could play a huge role in this game. Chicago has just been too good on defense to pick against them to win the game, but the Eagles keep it close. Take the 5.5 points and bet the Philadelphia Eagles in this game on Sunday.

NFL Week 13 Betting Odds and Predictions

The 2018 NFL regular season is nearing the home stretch as teams are making a run at the playoffs. There are several terrific matchups on the schedule for week 13. Let’s take a look at the five best games to bet on around the NFL this weekend.

Atlanta Falcons -1.0 vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens will head into Atlanta on Sunday and will be trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Falcons will need to win out to even have a chance at the playoffs after a disappointing start to the season. Atlanta has lost three straight games, and their offense is all out of sorts of late. Quarterback Matt Ryan has thrown for over 3,600 yards this season but has been inconsistent in the red zone. The Falcons have also given up 27.9 points per game, and their defense has taken a big step back from a season ago. Baltimore intends to start rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson again this week in this game, and he has provided a spark to the Ravens offense. Jackson has been running like crazy in the past two games, but he has taken advantage of a pair of horrible defenses. Baltimore is making a late push at a playoff run, but those dreams will take a big hit in this game. The Falcons should be able to score on the Ravens, and they will win this game at home. Bet the Atlanta Falcons -1.0 over the Baltimore Ravens.

Detroit Lions vs. Los Angeles Rams -10.0

The Los Angeles Rams will return from their bye week by taking on the Detroit Lions during week 13. The Rams enter this game with a 10-1 record, and still have their sights set on the top seed in the NFC. Detroit has struggled this season and suffered a crushing loss to the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Day. The Lions offense has been a mess all season long, and they will be without two of their top playmakers in this game. Wide receiver Marvin Jones was recently placed on injured reserve by the team, and running back Kerryon Johnson is still injured. The Rams are led by quarterback Jared Goff and Todd Gurley, and their offense has been unstoppable all season long. Los Angeles should be focused and refreshed coming off of their bye week, and they will blow out the Lions. Bet the Rams -10.0 over the Lions.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers -3.5

The Carolina Panthers will try to snap a three-game losing streak when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers looked like one of the top teams in the NFC through the first 10 weeks of the season, but the wheels have started to fall off. Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston was sharp in the week 12 victory over the San Francisco 49ers but will face a much tougher defense in this matchup. Tampa Bay has struggled to play defense this season, and that won’t work against Christian McCaffrey and the Panthers offense. Look for the Panthers to snap their losing streak with a big win in Tampa Bay. Bet the Carolina Panthers -3.5 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Houston Texans -5.5 vs. Cleveland Browns

The red-hot Houston Texans will host the improving Cleveland Browns on Sunday at NRG Stadium. The Texans have won eight straight games after their win over the Titans on Monday Night Football, and have all but locked up the AFC South. The Houston defense has been playing at a high level, allowing just 20.2 points per game this season. Quarterback Deshaun Watson is starting to look like the player he was last season, and the Texans should be able to score some points against a young Browns defense. Cleveland has gone 4-6-1 so far this season, and with rookie quarterback, Baker Mayfield leading the way, look like a team that could make the playoffs next season. Mayfield and the Cleveland offense are in for a tough test in this game, and things won’t go well for them on Sunday. Bet the Houston Texans -5.5 over the Cleveland Browns.

New England Patriots -5.0 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Perhaps the best game on the week 13 schedule is a matchup between the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings. This game was billed as a potential Super Bowl preview in the preseason, and both teams are starting to show signs of that taking place. The Patriots are starting to get healthy again, and tight end Rob Gronkowski was a monster in their week 12 victory over the Jets. The Vikings got a great performance from Kirk Cousins in a Sunday night win over the Green Bay Packers last weekend. This should be a terrific football game that will come down to the last few minutes. Fortunately for the Patriots they still have Tom Brady, and he will lead New England on a late game-winning touchdown drive. Bet the Patriots -5.0 over the Vikings.

NFL Week 12 Betting Odds and Predictions

Week 12 of the NFL season is set to kick off with three games on Thanksgiving Day. Many of the spreads in week 12 are rather large, but let’s take a look at five of the best games to bet on this weekend around the NFL.

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears -3.0

The Detroit Lions will host the Chicago Bears in their annual Thanksgiving Day game. This is a rematch of a game that was played two weeks ago in Chicago in which the Bears beat the Lions 34-22. The Chicago Bears offense was absolutely unstoppable in that contest, but the Bears could be without Mitchell Trubisky in this contest. Trubisky injured his throwing shoulder in the win over the Vikings, and his status is questionable. Fortunately for the Bears, they still have Khalil Mack and one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Lions have struggled to score all season long, and Chicago will keep Detroit to a low number. Bet the Chicago Bears -3.0 over the Lions in this game.

Cincinnati Bengals -3.0 vs. Cleveland Browns

The Cincinnati Bengals will host the Cleveland Browns in an AFC North battle on Sunday. The Bengals are only a three-point favorite in this game, which is a bit of a surprise. Cleveland has won just three games this season, but they did pick up an impressive win over the Falcons in week 11. Quarterback Baker Mayfield has shown glimpses of greatness this season but has also been wildly inconsistent. The Bengals have been horrible on defense for much of this season, but they should be able to get some pressure on Mayfield in this game. The status of wide receiver AJ Green will play a huge role in this game, but it is likely that he will suit up. This should be a competitive game, but the Bengals have too much offense for the Browns in this game. Look for the Bengals to win a wild affair in Cincy. Bet the Bengals -3.0 over the Browns on Sunday.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Arizona Cardinals +12.5

The Los Angeles Chargers are a whopping 12.5 point favorite over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The Chargers were off to a 7-2 start to the season but suffered a last-second loss to the Denver Broncos last weekend. Quarterback Philip Rivers has thrown for nearly 3,000 yards and 23 touchdowns this season but threw two costly interceptions in the loss to Denver. The Cardinals come into this game with a 2-8 record, but they have been competitive in recent weeks. Arizona lost by just 12 points to the explosive Kansas City Chiefs two weeks ago, and they are still playing hard. The Los Angeles Chargers are the obvious pick to win this game, but the Cardinals won’t get blown out in LA. Take the points and bet the Arizona Cardinals +12.5 in this matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Denver Broncos vs. Pittsburgh Steelers -3.0

Another road favorite this week is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who will be taking on the Denver Broncos. The Steelers have won six straight games to take control of the AFC North Division, while the Denver Broncos are clinging to playoff hope with a 4-6 record. The Broncos stunned the Chargers in week 11, and they have one of the top defenses in the NFL. Denver also averages over 124 rushing yards per game which should keep the explosive Steelers offense off of the field. The Steelers are still the pick in this game because quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is playing at an extremely high level. Big Ben has thrown for over 3,200 yards this season, and he should take advantage of a depleted Broncos secondary. Winning in Denver won’t be an easy task, but the Steelers will get the job done. Bet the Steelers -3.0 over the Broncos on Sunday.

Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans

One of the best games of the weekend will take place on Monday night when the Houston Texans play host to the Tennessee Titans. The Houston Texans have won seven straight games to take control of the AFC South Division, but a Titans victory could close the gap for the playoff spot. Houston has won their past two games by a combined four points, and this game should be extremely tight as well. The Texans feature one of the best pass rushing attacks in football, with J.J. Watt leading the way. The Titans will have to find a way to keep quarterback Marcus Mariota upright and healthy in this contest if they want a chance. Mariota has dealt with injuries all season long and has thrown just seven touchdown passes this season. The Titans can play defense, and that unit should keep them in this game right down to the wire. Houston has won seven straight games, and they will make it eight with a victory over Tennessee on Monday night. Bet the Houston Texans over the Tennessee Titans.
