Betting Odds and Predictions to Win 2018 Tour Championship

The 2017-18 PGA Tour season wraps up this week with the 2018 Tour Championship. The Tour Championship will take place at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia and has a field of just the 30 top ranked golfers. Let’s take a look at the current betting odds for the 2018 Tour Championship with some predictions for the top golfers.

Favorites

Justin Rose +900: Rose has been one of the most consistent golfers in the past month, and earned back to back runner-up finishes at the Dell Technologies Championship and BMW Championship. Rose enters this weekend as one of the three co-favorites, and he should be in the mix heading into Sunday.

Dustin Johnson +900: Dustin Johnson continues to get great odds each weekend, but hasn’t performed well in recent events. Johnson can hit the ball a long way but has struggled with his short game in previous tournaments. Johnson has plenty of talent but doesn’t have much momentum heading into the Tour Championship.

Rory McIlroy +900: McIlroy has had success at this tournament in the past, winning the Tour Championship in 2018. McIlroy has only recorded one win in 2018, but his name has been near the top of the leaderboard in many tournaments lately. Don’t be surprised if he wins his second Tour Championship in three years.

Justin Thomas +1100: Justin Thomas comes into this tournament as the fifth-ranked golfer in terms of FedEx points, and could win the coveted $10 million prize with a victory at East Lake. Thomas has already racked up three tournament wins this season, and has been in the mix at several other tournaments. Expect Thomas to play well at East Lake this weekend.

Tiger Woods +1200: Tiger Woods checks in with the fifth-best odds to win the PGA Tour Championship, and for good reason. Woods has been impressive in the last few tournaments but has always had one round which has held him back. If Tiger is able to play solid for all four rounds this weekend, then this tournament might be his. Either way, it’s been an impressive comeback season for Tiger.

Brooks Koepka +1200: A win this weekend would almost certainly earn Koepka the PGA Tour Golfer of the Year Award. Koepka won the U.S. Open and The 2018 Tour Championship is this weekend. Take a look at the betting odds and predictions for the event featuring the Top 30 players. Championship this season, and has been playing solid in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He can hit the golf ball a long way off of the tee, and he should make this course play extremely short.

Challengers

Rickie Fowler +1800

Bryson DeChambeau +1800: DeChambeau enters this tournament with the number one seed after winning both the Northern Trust and Dell Technologies Championship. It seems strange to see DeChambeau outside of the group of favorites at +1800 and there could be incredible value with this bet.

Tony Finau +1800: Another player from this group to keep an eye on this weekend is Tony Finau. Finau burst onto the scene this season, and has proven to be a consistent golfer that is capable of winning a big tournament. There is great value in betting on Finau as well.

Hideki Matsuyama +2000
Francesco Molinari +2500
Jason Day +2500
Tommy Fleetwood +2500

Xander Schauffele +2800: Xander Schauffele won this event last season as a rookie, but is receiving just +2800 odds this time around. Schauffele has a great combination of length off the tee and a terrific putting stroke. He has quickly emerged as one of the most respected and feared golfers on tour, and will have a great shot of repeating at East Lake this weekend.

Billy Horschel +2800
Jon Rahm +2800
Webb Simpson +2800

Longshots

Patrick Cantlay +4000
Patrick Reed +4000
Paul Casey +4000
Bubba Watson +4500
Phil Mickelson +5000:

Keegan Bradley +5000: Keegan Bradley won the previous FedEx Cup Playoff event and hopes to carry that momentum into East Lake. Bradley was able to defeat Justin Rose in the playoff at the BMW Championship two weeks ago. If Bradley is able to pull this off and win his second straight event, it will produce a huge payday.

Gary Woodland +5000
Marc Leishman +5500
Cameron Smith +6600
Kyle Stanley +6600
Aaron Wise +6600
Kevin Na +8000
Patton Kizzire +25000

Prediction: With just thirty players in this field, the leaderboard will likely always be filled with big names. Expect Tiger Woods to spend some time at the top of the leaderboard again this weekend, but he won’t get the job done. The group of favorites for this event could all pull this off, but I think it will likely be won by someone from the sleeper group. Look for Bryson DeChambeau and Xander Schauffele to wind up battling it out on Sunday afternoon at East Lake. Schauffele just feels like he is playing too well to not get the job done this weekend. Bet Xander Schauffele +2800 at the Tour Championship.
